Alicia Spates- Co-Owner and Director of Operations

Alicia grew up in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom, where she was raised in a close-knit family business that instilled in her a deep appreciation for community, connection, and caring for others. In 2000, she moved to Boston to earn her undergraduate degree in Public Relations and Communications from Simmons College before settling on the Seacoast to pursue her Master’s degree in Education at the University of New Hampshire.

Alicia spent years in education before stepping away from the classroom to focus on raising her family. During that season of life, she joined forces with Amanda at Body Mechanix, combining their shared passion for serving others and helping grow a business rooted in connection, compassion, and community.

Today, Alicia balances her role as an educator at Dover Middle School with her ongoing work at Body Mechanix, where she continues to support the business and help shape the client experience behind the scenes.

When she’s not teaching, organizing spaces, or working behind the scenes at Body Mechanix, you’ll likely find Alicia shuttling kids to their next adventure, creating beautiful and functional spaces, playing the piano, soaking up time at the beach, exploring the outdoors, or simply enjoying quality time with family. She finds joy in creating calm from chaos and believes that whether it’s a classroom, a home, or a business, the most meaningful spaces are the ones where people feel welcomed, supported, and genuinely cared for.

Although you may not hear her voice on the phone quite as often these days, Alicia continues to play an active role in helping Body Mechanix provide the warm, welcoming experience our clients have come to know and love.
