Chris graduated from Great Bay Community College’s Massage Program in 2019. As a licensed massage therapist, he feels fortunate to have connected with Body Mechanix. At one point, Chris was only able to speak in broad terms as to what he wanted to do – to work in an environment that supported clients beyond just the elements of relaxation. Now he understands, at a deeper level, that his passion is working with individuals to help them heal and reach their performance goals. Working at Body Mechanix will bring those larger ideas into focus. He’s excited to connect with clients, collaborating with the body to help them succeed.
This interest stems from Chris’s background, personally and professionally, experiencing what the body and mind can do. A runner since high school, he has run the Boston Marathon and now mostly runs ultra marathons, a scene in which he’s seen what the human body can do and achieve. His degree in Occupational Therapy led him to facilitate two brain injury support groups in Vermont for several years, in which he saw the resiliency of the brain and mind to never stop healing. From those experiences, he believes in the body’s ability to bounce back and continually improve.
Chris is originally from Vermont, but went to high school at the International School of Bangkok where his parents taught. He came back to Vermont for school and over time ended up on the seacoast. He has two sisters, a nephew, and a niece who he enjoys spoiling. When not working, Chris says “hi” to every dog he sees, stays active running or at the gym, woodworking or using his lathe, and singing in Community Chorus of South Berwick.

Deep Tissue:
Deep tissue massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronic aches and pains and contracted areas such as stiff neck and upper back, low back pain, leg muscle tightness, and sore shoulders
Sports Massage:
Sports massage therapy is geared toward athletes of every kind, from world-class professionals to weekend joggers. The particulars of the sports massage technique are specific to the athlete’s sport of choice. Focusing on areas of the body that are overused and stressed from repetitive and often aggressive movements.
Pre-Natal:
Massage therapy during pregnancy is a wonderful complementary choice for prenatal care. It is a healthy way to reduce stress and promote overall wellness. Massage relieves many of the normal discomforts experienced during pregnancy, such as backaches, stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches and edema (or swelling).
In addition, massage for pregnant women reduces stress on weight-bearing joints, encourages blood and lymph circulation, helps to relax nervous tension — which aids in better sleep — and can help relieve depression or anxiety caused by hormonal changes.
Relaxation:
Swedish massage therapy is the modality that comes to mind when most people think about massage. As the best-known type of bodywork performed today, one of the primary goals of the Swedish massage technique is to relax the entire body. This is accomplished by rubbing the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. Swedish massage therapy goes beyond relaxation. Swedish massage is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension.
