Michelle Dunn, LMT
Michelle sought out massage therapy as a way to heal herself from car accident injuries about 10 years ago. Ever since then she has been inspired by the healing power of therapeutic touch and in complete awe with the resiliency of the human body. Massage therapy has helped her to reduce pain and scar tissue, and increase her range of motion which allowed her to recover a lot faster than expected.
Massage therapy school had always been on the back of her mind but she didn’t feel ready to pursue it until she moved up to New Hampshire about 2 years ago. Michelle graduated from Great Bay Community College in August. She started working with Body Mechanix Massage as an intern in May and recently joined the team full-time. She is also a certified Reiki II practitioner.
Michelle loves living on the Seacoast with her boyfriend, Aaron, and their three dogs. When she’s not working you can find her hiking, spending time with friends and family, cooking, snowboarding, and practicing yoga and meditation. She is also currently in the process of hiking all NH 4K footers!

Deep tissue massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronic aches and pains and contracted areas such as stiff neck and upper back, low back pain, leg muscle tightness, and sore shoulders
Sports massage therapy is geared toward athletes of every kind, from world-class professionals to weekend joggers. The particulars of the sports massage technique are specific to the athlete’s sport of choice. Focusing on areas of the body that are overused and stressed from repetitive and often aggressive movements.
Massage therapy during pregnancy is a wonderful complementary choice for prenatal care. It is a healthy way to reduce stress and promote overall wellness. Massage relieves many of the normal discomforts experienced during pregnancy, such as backaches, stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches and edema (or swelling).
In addition, massage for pregnant women reduces stress on weight-bearing joints, encourages blood and lymph circulation, helps to relax nervous tension — which aids in better sleep — and can help relieve depression or anxiety caused by hormonal changes.
Swedish massage therapy is the modality that comes to mind when most people think about massage. As the best-known type of bodywork performed today, one of the primary goals of the Swedish massage technique is to relax the entire body. This is accomplished by rubbing the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. Swedish massage therapy goes beyond relaxation. Swedish massage is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension.
