From a very young age, Haley had deep caregiver intuitions. She felt an easy connection with people, especially mothers and babies. Guided by an old, happy soul, she grew up naturally caring for family and friends.
Joining the Body Mechanix Massage team is a wonderful next step in her healthcare career!
Background
In 2012, Haley graduated from Marshwood High School with a Certified Nurse’s Assistant (CNA) certificate with plans to pursue a career in nursing. While attending college, she gained real-world healthcare experience working at a nursing home and in-home care.
Then, a long-time friend suggested she take a Birth Doula course. Providing emotional and physical support for mothers before, during, and immediately after birth was a natural role for her. After supporting her first couple through their birth experience, it was very clear to know first-hand the power of “loving, supportive, professional touch” in establishing balanced health.
In 2019, she took a break from the nursing track and applied to the Massage Therapy program at Great Bay Community College. Along with anatomy, kinesiology, and pathology, she discovered the joys and benefits of working with essential oils, energy/pendulums, and chakras energy centers in addition to soft tissue manipulation. She has a beautiful balance of experience to bring to the table here at Body Mechanix Massage.
In other areas of Haley’s life, she loves being in the garden, drying herbs, baking bread, drawing, paddle boarding, walking in the woods, and staying connected with family and friends.
Haley’s Treatments + Rates:
Deep Tissue:
Deep tissue massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronic aches and pains and contracted areas such as stiff neck and upper back, low back pain, leg muscle tightness, and sore shoulders
Sports Massage:
Sports massage therapy is geared toward athletes of every kind, from world-class professionals to weekend joggers. The particulars of the sports massage technique are specific to the athlete’s sport of choice. Focusing on areas of the body that are overused and stressed from repetitive and often aggressive movements.
Pre-Natal:
Massage therapy during pregnancy is a wonderful complementary choice for prenatal care. It is a healthy way to reduce stress and promote overall wellness. Massage relieves many of the normal discomforts experienced during pregnancy, such as backaches, stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches and edema (or swelling).
In addition, massage for pregnant women reduces stress on weight-bearing joints, encourages blood and lymph circulation, helps to relax nervous tension — which aids in better sleep — and can help relieve depression or anxiety caused by hormonal changes.
Relaxation:
Swedish massage therapy is the modality that comes to mind when most people think about massage. As the best-known type of bodywork performed today, one of the primary goals of the Swedish massage technique is to relax the entire body. This is accomplished by rubbing the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. Swedish massage therapy goes beyond relaxation. Swedish massage is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension.
